Gap filling using resin

We use the cleaner, finer dust created from the latter stages of your floor sanding and mix this with Blanchon high quality Resin to form a paste onto your newly sanded floor, the team will decide on the correct consistency adding more Resin filler/sawdust as needed. This paste (think plastering) is then hand applied using a spatula over the entire floor area and left to dry, this is then sanded back, leaving all of the gaps, cracks and nail holes filled with the Resin, resulting in a nice smooth finish.

About the product

The high quality Blanchon Resin Filler has been formulated and developed to seal joints, splits, holes and small cracks  in glued down wooden floors. The Resin Filler is recommended for the general filling of glued wooden floors.

Resin filler is for use in conjunction with the sanding process to fill in gaps between the floor boards, cracks and nail holes. It is generally recommended for gaps up to 3mm, for gaps larger than this we recommend Wood Slivers.

How to maintain the gaps

As wood is a natural product, you can typically expect some movement in the form of expansion and contraction, this all depends on ambient home temperatures and changes in the temperature & humidity with the changing seasons.
We stock a fantastic product called Bona Gap Master should your resin filler crack or drop out at any time.

This is a mastic filler produced in a range of colours to best match your existing resin/sawdust filler. This is applied into the gaps then with a damp cloth, wipe off the excess, wipe again with a dry cloth and leave to dry for 12 hours.
